7 key issues

Whether it's growth, immigration, healthcare, taxes, defence, housing or the environment you will struggle to appeal to everyone all of the time. You will need to make hard compromises to win votes in the right places.

Are you going to try to appeal to voters in every constituency or are you going to be a single-issue party?

A Balanced manifesto

Using both your party's special policies and the deck, you will need to build a manifesto.

Fiscal probity is the cornerstone of British politics, even if after the election it all turns out to be a lie. Your manifesto must balance the books at all times, never spending more than it costs.

3 party policies

Every party has their own special policies such as 'Flights to Rwanda', 'Great British Energy and all of your other favourites from the last few years.

These are especially powerful and give your party their own unique flavour. Guard them carefully and use them at the right time to swing the campaign in your favour.

Go canvassing

Every week you can go door-to-door in a constituency and change the voters' minds about issues to one that your party better represents.

Be careful though, all of the other parties are out campaigning too, you'll have to decide whether fighting over the issues is a good use of time. Maybe you should be building your manifesto instead.

Polls and theatrics

At the end of every week you will need to count up your manifesto's effect on the face up issues in the constituencies. The winner each week will receive a permanent boost to their campaign's momentum, so it's important to keep in the race every week, don't just think about the end-game.

Disrupt your opponent's turn with theatrics and use the twists and turns of the election campaign in your favour.
